What makes us be the expert for U.S. emergency lighting solution?

Phenix Lighting’s involvement in the North American emergency power field can be traced back to 2003. At that time, only a few local brands in USA dominate the market.

One day, a customer from wind energy found us and put forward their requirements of the emergency module to fit their wind lighting kit, 100-277V universal voltage, good weather resistance (high humidity, low and high temperature, and corrosion resistance), vibration resistance, CE and UL certification, design life of more than 10 years, and with five years of warranty. Based on the market optimism, we started the research and development of this first global Universal Emergency Ballast  From design and development to final confirmation of quality standards and stable mass production, we spent nearly three years. Today, nearly two decade years later, the product is still popular with customers.

From then on, we developed in succession a variety of CE/UL 100-277V universal emergency power packs which have passed the stringent testing standards in the energy field. The application covers not only the emergency solution in normal temperature environment, but also extreme environments and temperatures such as IP67 COLD-PACK LED emergency driver which is the global first emergency power packs series suitable for -40℃to +50℃extremely wide temperatures for outdoor use.

When an industry insider asked: Why do you have to make an emergency power supply an industrial grade product? Aren't you worried about the high cost? And our chief designer said: “My philosophy is to make the world's top products; our products must meet industry benchmarks in terms of performance and reliability.”

First, we strictly control the selection of raw materials, the key components are from the top class international brands (ST MCU, Rubycon capacitors, Hongfa relays and etc.) reliable and durable quality, long lifetime. And for the battery packs, we have chosen the international well-known brand battery cell, with higher capacity and better performance in low and high temperatures from - 5℃ and +55℃, the ultimate operating temperature can reach 70℃.

The research and development cycle of emergency power supply products is very long, not only because the circuit design is relatively complicated, but also the long cycle of feasibility verification of the scheme, reliability test of components, and durability test of high and low temperature charge and discharge cycles. For a new product, it often takes more than half a year to complete the Design Verification Process (DVP), from which all the potential failure risks of new products are found out and then eliminated.

When comes into Production Verification Process (PVP), under the premise that all components have been strictly tested and all kinds of equipment have been repeatedly confirmed, each piece of PCBA is produced under strict quality control and need to pass the functional and electrical parameter tests. After the assembly process, each finished emergency unit need to be conducted the complete charge and discharge cycle test for 5 voltages, which takes about one week to finish.

Because of all team members’ attitude of continuous focus, as well as the pursuit of product quality make Phenix Lighting continuous progress in this field.

Our exploration in the field of emergency lighting solutions will never stop, Phenix Lighting will continue to innovate, bring more benefits to our customers, and we will care about your every need.
